MOPS is a wonderful outreach opportunity for our church by providing the means to meet the needs of mothers of children ages birth through kindergarten. We will have regular monthly meetings, play dates, and a variety of other activities throughout the year.  “MOPPETTS” activities and care for the children will be provided while Moms have adult time during the regular scheduled meetings. Mothers of Preschoolers affectionately known as MOPS by mothers around the world will have a new local charter in Orange. MOPS is an organization created to support mothers of children ages birth to kindergarten as they engage in the aspects of motherhood. The gathering of the new MOPS will occur once a month from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. beginning Aug. 27 followed by every third Thursday from September through May, at First United Methodist Church Orange. Childcare will be provided. Motherhood can bring along a variety of joy, confusion, pleasure and exhaustion. MOPS provides an atmosphere where mothers can share their stories and learn from one another discovering they aren’t alone in their experiences. Mothers find they can develop new adult friendships where they can communicate in complete sentences and eat without interruption. MOPS provides a supportive environment among other mothers that allows mental and physical “batteries” to be recharged. Most of all, MOPS generates inspiration from other mothers that meet each other’s needs not only as a mother, but also as a woman and a friend. Although there are four other MOPS charters in the Golden Triangle, this will be a new charter in Orange.
