Rodgers and Hammerstein

First United Methodist Church of Orange presented “Rodgers and Hammerstein” on February 11 and 12, 2009 at 6:00p.m. “Rodgers and Hammerstein” was two special evenings of gourmet dining and fabulous entertainment in the new Family Center. The dinner will feature an entrée of Grilled Tenderloin of Pork with Ancho Chili Glaze and all the trimmings. The entertainment was a Broadway-style review that featured the unforgettable music of Richard Rodgers and the lyrics of Oscar Hammerstein. The cast was composed of some of the finest talent in the area. It is a dress up event, but not necessarily black-tie, although the performers will be in formal attire. “Rodgers and Hammerstein” was designed to provide a first-class evening for church members as well as the public to treat their loved ones, employees, or dear friends to an evening of opulent dining and music. This Valentine opportunity was a unique and elegant event and was the third of many annual fundraisers to be. Patrons will recall the wonderful “Gershwin” and “Porter” in years past. These one-of-a-kind evenings are brought to the public by the Music and Fine Arts Department of First United Methodist Church of Orange.

What was the purpose? This was the third of many annual fundraisers to help us finish paying for the Family Center. Our goal was to raise $10,000.00 in two evenings to help soften the blow of debt retirement on our annual budget.
