MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers)

Mothers of Preschoolers affectionately known as MOPS by mothers around the world have a new local charter in Orange, hosted by FUMC Orange. MOPS is an organization created to support mothers of children ages birth to kindergarten as they engage in the aspects of motherhood.

Motherhood can bring along a variety of joy, confusion, pleasure and exhaustion. MOPS provides an atmosphere where mothers can share their stories and learn from one another discovering they aren’t alone in their experiences. Mothers find they can develop new adult friendships where they can communicate in complete sentences and eat without interruption. MOPS provides a supportive environment among other mothers that allows mental and physical “batteries” to be recharged. Most of all, MOPS generates inspiration from other mothers that meet each other’s needs not only as a mother, but also as a woman and a friend.

MOPS will have monthly MOPS meetings (the third Thursday of each month), play dates, and a variety of other activities throughout the year. Onsite care and activities for the children or “MOPPETTS” will be provided during the regular scheduled meetings, allowing moms to have adult time.

Next meeting: Thursday, September 16
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Praise Center, FUMC Orange
